Piracy

Its everywhere..Flea Markets,Dodgy buddies, youre cd rack!!But whats so wrong about it?

Yes we are taking money away from the games designers, the artists and dorks sitting behind computers making rave music. But think of it this way, arent they actually doing it to themselves?
How many of us can afford to go watch movies regularly, buy a few cd's and maybe a game or two?I cant...Therefore i pirate.

Yes, im a pirate.I admit it,and honestly, im not looking for help. But Im slightly different to most others. The stuff i pirate I either delete if its kak,or i source out the original.Music wise sometimes its a bit harder.Cky , Elefant, ect are not commercially avalible in SA,cause we are kak.You have to import it here.Thats kinda more expensive. Before HIM became mega famous over here,i actually had one of their cd's,R220 for one cd.Trust me my heart was broken when some doos stole it out of my car.But thats a different story.

Why on earth do we have to pay these exorbitant prices?Do celebrities have to earn tens of millions for a movie?do artists and record companies have to make so much off cd's?Why is it that they can keep Sterkinekor open at R14 a movie, but then they can change their prices back to R30+- ?? Where is the logic?Doesnt that just shout please.download me rather!

They are bringing it on themselves.

ok.dont have that much time,So this one is going to be short.

but remember,im still wasting youre life.

  • I fully agree with you there marbrino. They are doing it to themselves. I think our problem here in the republic of kak is that its the import costs that shnaai us. cd's, games, movies are affordable in countries such as england and the U.S. If i could pay R15 for a cd and R30 for a game trust me i would buy them. but 140 bucks for a cd is just nuts!! the only way things like these will improve is when the Rand gets stronger, the stronger it gets the cheaper things get. another main influence believe it or not is the petrol price, once the petrol price goes up everything else goes up. those arabs have us by the balls!!

  • One day when you earn a little more, so will the little pleasures of life become more affordable. I'm not saying that the prices are not crazy. Most times, they are. Just remember, being an artist is what these guys do for a living. Further, the biggest problem with piracy (in my view) is not the undercover softie like you copying stuff in his backyard in Randfontein. It's the drug lords, the war lords and other hoodlums out there that murder, rape, mass produce and sell drugs, etc., - that worries me. Piracy is the number one financial resource and the fastest, for these guys who ruin lives. Think about that. That is what's wrong with it. If it were your mom or sister or best pal being caught up in a drug syndicate or dying from an OD, or caught in the cross fire of a gang fight, would your view be different and would you continue supporting their cashflow? What harm does it do to buy the CD, movie, etc., fair-and-square? Maybe just a few less McDonald's burgers. Which would do your heart the world of good anyway.
